Busy year with less movies watched. Too lazy/no time to make in-depth comments. Pick your preferred excuse.

Every Movie I’ve Watched in 2024
The Family Plan – 8/10
Solid watch.
Lift – 6/10
Decent, Kevin Hart is there.
Oppenheimer – 7/10
Gets a little slow near the end, but still worth the 3 hour investment, especially if you’re watching it at home with room for bathroom breaks.
Role Play – 6/10
Decent movie for the spouse-is-a-secret-spy/assassin trope
The Marvels – 3/10
This past year was probably the height of the Marvel slump, so it probably (hopefully) can only go up from here.
Napoleon – 1/10
The most boring dramatized historical fiction movie I’ve ever watched and probably down there with the dumbest movies I’ve ever watched. What a waste of time.
Self Reliance – 5/10
The Other Zoey – 5/10
Crazy, Stupid, Love – 4/10
Not even the most relevant person in the movie, but gotta take the time to say Emma Stone = overrated.
The Beekeeper – 7/10
Jason Statham popped off this year.
Anyone But You – 8/10
Probably lower than an 8, but points added for cultural impact.
Which Brings Me to You – 8/10
Post-Pretty Little Liars Lucy Hale in her rom-com era is *chefs kiss*. Also watch her Puppy Love from last year’s list if you haven’t already.
American Fiction – 5/10
Upgraded – 7/10
Taylor Tomlinson: Look at You – 6/10
Good comedian.
Taylor Tomlinson: Quarter-Life Crisis – 6/10
Taylor Tomlinson: Have it All – 6/10
Another car-chase heist type movie for the phase I was in.
Art of Love (2024) – 8/10
Margin Call – 6/10
There was an extra credit question on this movie for an exam for one of my finals, and I took that as an excuse to be “productive.” It still is a solid dramatization of the ‘08 crisis.
Players – 7/10
The Jane the Virgin person is here
Madame Webb – 5/10
Dakota Johnson actually made one of the Sony Marvel films decent.
The Hummingbird Project – 4/10
If you’re into high-frequency trading, the movie might be fun to watch just due to the lack of movies in the genre, but otherwise don’t bother.
Scoop – 6/10
Good biographical drama on Newsnight’s coverage of Prince Andrews and Jeffrey Epstein
Monkey Man – 4/10
Cool concept and really good trailer, but the movie could get quite boring at times. I’m a fan of Dev Patel as an actor and this was his directorial debut, so not too bad, all things considered.
The Gambler – 5/10
Who doesn’t love gambling?
21 – 9/10
Who doesn’t love smart gambling?
Moneyball – 9/10
Who doesn’t love smart sports gambling?
Civil War – 1/10
Trailer upsold this movie hard. The marketing team better have gotten fat bonuses this year for making people watch this trash.
The Fall Guy – 8/10
Ryan Gosling + Emily Blunt.
Instant Family – 9/10
Mark Wahlberg = instant hit.
Despicable Me 4 – 6/10
Banana. Minions.
She’s Out of My League – 5/10
Daddio – 10/10
Must watch. Quite literally nothing happens outside of the two characters, yet this is one of the most engaging movies ever. You’ll gain even more respect for Dakota Johnson’s acting skills.
The Instigators – 7/10
Am I Ok? – 7/10
Dakota Johnson really popped off with a lot of movies this year.
The Union – 5/10
Didi – 2/10
Deadpool & Wolverine – 10/10
We back. Marvel is healing.
We Live in Time – 8/10
Andrew Garfield + Florence Pugh.
Hit Man – 8/10
Snack Shack – 4/10
