Another year, another installment of the things I watched. A lot of rewatches this year. I actually didn’t watch as many new shows this year. I personally don’t think I spent as much time watching either, but that might be a mix of copium and watching longer shows.
As usual, my formatting is:
[Show Title] – [Rating]
[total # of seasons] | [seasons watched]
[brief comments]
Every TV Show I’ve Watched in 2023
The Newsroom – 9/10
3 Seasons | S1-S3
I first watched this in sophomore year of high school out of a recommendation from my journalism teacher. It is still as amazing as ever.
You – 8/10
4 Seasons | S4
Pretty interesting to see You in another country. There’s more plot twists and its refreshing to see some variation in plot and not the same plot line being redone yet again.
Suits – 9/10
9 Seasons | S1-S9
I decided to finally commit and Suits in its entirety since the YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels algorithm were barraging me with countless Suits clips. Needless to say, the show is famous for a reason.
American Born Chinese – 4/10
1 Season | S1
Pretty mid, and rather different from the book, from what I remember reading as a child.
The Office – 6/10
9 Seasons | S1-S9
Another rewatch, but not worth binging.
Parks and Recreation – 8/10
7 Seasons | S1-S7
The last time I watched The Office, I also began Parks and Recreation right after because of the Rashida Jones connection. I inevitably went down the same path again and watched the superior mockumentary.
How I Met Your Father – 8/10
2 Seasons | S1-S2
After watching the Gossip Girl reboot a couple years ago, I was very reluctant to try watching How I Met Your Father, thinking it also wouldn’t do How I Met Your Mother justice. However, after looking for things to binge and watching the trailer multiple times, I decided to bite the bullet and was very pleasantly surprised with this show. Set in the modern day, it’s a much more relatable and representative show of young adult life.
Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey – 4/10
1 Season | S1
The social media gods struck again. The algorithms were feeding me random astrophysics clips and I decided to revisit the middle school science class movie days by watching some Neil deGrasse Tyson. Looking back, the CGI sucks and honestly it wasn’t that educational.
Who is Erin Carter? – 6/10
1 Season | S1
I randomly came across this show when it released and it’s pretty good.
Secret Invasion – 6/10
1 Season | S1
Loki – 8/10
2 Seasons | S2
I will stand by the statement that Loki is the best Marvel show.
The Flash – 7/10
9 Seasons | S1-S8
I started this show over Thanksgiving Break after the algorithms once again fed me clips of the show. I watched the first couple seasons back in middle school, but now I had to commit to finishing it. This was some questionable timing though, since going back was finals week and I found myself binging into the night, but everything turned out well.
One Piece – 7/10
1 Season | S1
As usual, I have kept up with this never-ending show. At least the Wano Arc is over and I can look forward to the implications of the Gomu Gomu Fruit’s newly revealed history.
This year was a year of watching things in entirety. Unfortunately, I was in a race against time watching The Flash, and was unable to finish every season. I only made it through part of season 8, so the remaining 1.5 seasons might have to just roll over to next year…
